MIRUS

Industry Brief 2019 at NUA

This industry brief with Mirus Aircraft Seating allowed me to create the fabrics that would be upholstered onto airlines seats. Design inspiration had to be driven from Middle Eastern culture as the target market is Middle East Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Emirates and Qatar.

My design inspiration for this project was obtained from many different points. For colour inspiration, I researched into Turkish rugs, being drawn to the deep and vibrant colours - especially oranges and browns. Automotive trends heavily inspired me, particularly Nissan's Navara Dark Sky concept. I further looked into the landscapes in the city of Cappadocia, Turkey - shapes and textures interested me and when combining all of my ideas and research together, I created fabrics that explore patterns that fade in and out of colour. I adapted some of my work to suit many styles of home interiors - from traditional to contemporary.
